To help prevent the spread of avian influenza (bird flu) and protect the bird species at Fota Wildlife Park, precautionary measures have been implemented based on guidance from the Department of Agriculture, Food, and the Marine.
As part of these measures, the duck feeder will remain closed until further notice. This step is necessary to minimise the risk of avian influenza transmission from migratory birds to the Park’s bird populations.
The feeder will reopen once the Department confirms it is safe to do so.
