Introducing a New Perspective of Fota Wildlife Park – Miss It. Miss Out.

Fota Wildlife Park is thrilled to unveil an exciting new temporary attraction this season—a breathtaking 35-metre-high Panoramic Wheel, opening on March 13th, to elevate the visitor experience like never before.

From 13th March to 8th June, visitors will have the opportunity to experience the Panoramic Wheel, offering a never-before-seen aerial view of the park and its stunning surroundings. Based inside Fota Wildlife Park, this will be an optional, paid-for experience, with tickets for the Panoramic Wheel available at a separate ticketing booth from €5 per individual.

This premium experience will provide visitors with spectacular views of the wildlife habitats and daily conservation efforts within the park’s 100-acre grounds. From the elevated vantage point, guests will gain a unique appreciation of the expansive landscapes dedicated to wildlife preservation.

The panoramic view will encompass key areas such as the sprawling savannah, the renowned cheetah run, and the extensive bison and lechwe paddock. Visitors will have the opportunity to observe the natural behaviours of species including the Rothschild giraffes, Grant’s zebra, ostriches, European bison, Northern cheetahs, black-and-white colobus monkeys, meerkats, as well as the free-roaming wallabies and Eastern grey kangaroos.

The experience will also highlight Fota Wildlife Park’s commitment to sustainability, providing a clear view of the recently installed solar panels on administration buildings and the refurbished giraffe house. The Education, Conservation, and Research Centre (ECRC) will also stand out, reflecting the park’s dedication to conservation and learning.

Beyond the park, the Panoramic Wheel will offer breathtaking views of Cork Harbour and the Great Island Channel, a designated Special Area of Conservation home to diverse native bird species and mammals. The historic landmarks of Fota House and Belvelly Castle will further enrich the vista, showcasing the park’s connection to the region’s natural and cultural heritage.

The attraction will be managed by an external operator with 25 years of industry experience, ensuring the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

With this new addition, Fota Wildlife Park, a conservation charity, continues to reinforce its role as a leading centre for conservation, education, and natural heritage, offering visitors an innovative way to engage with wildlife preservation efforts.

The Panoramic Wheel will be located within Fota Wildlife Park and will be available to visitors as an optional, paid attraction from March 13th to June 8th.
